What Is The Payout Percentage Of Slot Machines?

Slot machines have payout percentages that reveal how much the machine will pay out over its lifetime. This could be many years, so it may produce plenty of wins in a short time and then go through a drought where very few wins are experienced. Every spin of the reels is random though, determined by a random number generator. With that said, you can rely on the payout percentage being correct, if you remember it is calculated over a long time. The percentage is often referred to as the RTP for a machine. For your purposes, you should always choose a machine where the RTP value is as high as possible. A slot machine with a payout percentage of 98.7% is far better than one with a payout percentage of 94.3%, for example. The remaining percentage value that takes the figure to 100% is the slice that goes to the casino. Knowing the percentage doesn’t mean you will have better odds of winning. Since the spin of the reels is always random, you never know what will happen. However, you will know the machine is going to pay out more from the total bets than a lower-percentage one would.
