Blackjack is one of the most popular casino games around – maybe because it is very easy to understand and play. You should be aware there are a few variations though, so if you want to play, make sure you understand the rules of the game you’re playing.
The idea is players will make a bet on the outcome of the cards before play begins. The dealer will then deal two cards to each player. Two cards will also go to the dealer, one of which will be face up. The other will be face down. The idea is to get 21 – or blackjack – by adding up the total numbers of the cards. If the dealer gets 16 or fewer, they must deal themselves another card. If they get 17 or more, they must stand on that combination.
The idea is to get 21 if you can, but you will still win if you get more than the dealer’s hand without going bust (going over 21) in the process. If your cards are low in value, you can ask the dealer to hit you with another card. If you are close to 21 or you have 21, you would stand. If you go bust, that ends your hand.
