Castles make us think of centuries of history, of defending a country from invaders, and knights in shining armor. We’re not sure we like the sound of a horror castle, yet that is what we are faced with here. Will this slot game be a delight to play or a true horror? Will the theme be well developed, or will we be left feeling disappointed at what could have been a great game with a title like this?
When we see the beginning of this slot from Fugaso, we see an image of a strange-looking castle with an orange-yellow glow behind the windows. This cannot be a real castle, surely – we can’t imagine it would stay upright if it existed for real. But if you look more closely, the castle looks as though it is shrieking at us, with the open gates appearing as teeth. We doubt this slot will be a letdown, at least based on the appearance we see here.
The game is not without its amusing features, though. The five reels are packed with some odd creatures, owls, characters, and images. There is a pile of skulls on either side of the reels, indicating the paylines, and a creature with green claws and a pumpkin for a head too. That happy-looking guy appears as an expanded wild and can trigger a re-spin for you, so maybe he is not so scary after all. There is also an Explosive Pumpkin Re-spin to look forward to, where he throws his head onto the reels and you get sticky wilds on the middle three reels.
