Oftentimes, people talk about their strategies when playing slots – the things they do (or don’t do) to help give them the edge. But is there such a thing? Can you put a strategy into play that helps you tip the odds in your favor?

Can you beat the system?
No. It’s not possible to play a slot game to give you the edge. You might hit a lucky streak, but it is just that – luck. While machines might be termed as hot or cold, depending on the latest run of results they have produced, this is to be expected. When results are generated at random, we can expect a random set of outcomes. You never can tell what is going to happen on any spin.
Play all the available lines to give yourself the best chance of a win
This makes good sense. If you play a 30-line slot and you only bet on one line, you’re leaving 29 potential wins on the table. The jackpot combination could appear on the 27th line, for example, and if you only bet on the first line, you would see it go by unclaimed. Always check how many lines a game has and be sure you can afford to play them all.
Know when to walk away
This is very important. Before you make a single bet, know how much your bankroll is worth. Play with that amount and then quit. If you score a big win early, you may consider leaving the game behind there and then. It would be easy to bet more on each line in the hope of scoring a bigger win, but you could just as easily lose the lot.
The best strategy of all is to know how you play and how you enjoy slot games. If you play according to that rule, you cannot go far wrong. You should also ensure you never begin until you know what your bankroll is and what you are happy to lose. And remember, the best slots are the ones you have plenty of fun playing.
