Online Casinos in the United States
Once an uncertain market, now the US government and the casino industry are both preparing for major changes in the online gaming. After several years of legal uncertainty and the passing of the 2006 law to ban banking transactions, there seemed to be no light at the end of the gaming tunnel. Then on December 23rd 2011 the Department of Justice announced that online casinos and poker are not to be combined with the 1961 Wire Act, just sports betting. This clarification on the law now opened the possibilities for land based casinos in the US to begin the process of seeking out how to get and obtain licenses, as it would be a matter of time when the States took it upon themselves to begin the regulation process. Now the offshore and European online gaming sites feel like they can get into the act and join in and proceed to investigate the US entry process. As was expected, the State of Nevada became the first State to begin this process even before the DOJ announcement. Even though it’s still early, Nevada will most likely set the legal precedent for other States to begin their regulation processes. Once the precedence is set, all the States, including Indian Tribes will have their own similar legal version. This will keep it consistent so that when domestic and foreign companies come apply they will be required to pass the strict standards set for all license applications. The first of the land-based casino operators will be the likes of Harrah’s and Caesars as they are the big ones. In addition to online operators, land based casinos and betting shops, now even software companies like Microgaming can now begin their plans to enter the US market. Now is a great time for companies like Microgaming, that have the industry clout and the money to begin the process of obtaining a license so all their operators can enjoy the benefits of such a potentially large and responsive market.Grand Parker Casino has all the games so get in and prosper.
